Kilgarvan Central School received its 5th Green Schools Flag for ‘Biodiversity’ at an Awards Ceremony held in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island, Cork, on Friday 12th May 2017. This was the culmination of two years of hard work by the students and teachers.
Congratulations to Kilgarvan Central School on this great achievement.
A special ‘Thank You’ to our Green Schools committee members – Helen Cronin (co-ordinator), Conaill O’ Sullivan (chairperson), Beth McCarthy (secretary), Nathan Kelleher, Leah Murphy, Darren Lynch, Tara Desmond, Noreen Kelleher, Alannah O’ Sullivan, Ruth Casey, Katelyn O’ Donoghue, Ugne Raila and Ella Healy.
We were limited to bringing 4 people from the school to the awards ceremony. Following a draw, which included all members of the Green Schools Committee, Nathan Kelleher and Beth McCarthy were the winners and travelled to Cork along with Miss Cronin and Eileen Scanlon to receive the flag.
